The very best of all Rombauer Chardonnays, our Proprietor Selection is comprised of the top barrels of Chardonnay each year. Expect an elevated expression of our Carneros Chardonnay, with intense fruit flavors, a round body, and brilliant acidity.
Flavor Profiles
Intense aromas of melon, white peach, and lemon are joined by more intense stone fruit flavors that flood the palate. The creamy, full mouthfeel is lifted by bright acidity, which balances the long, concentrated finish. It is everything you want from a Rombauer Chardonnay, and more.
Fruit for this wine comes from elite estate-owned vineyards in the Carneros region and select growers including the Sangiacomo family, long-term grower partners who have farmed this land for three generations.
The grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed while the fruit was still cool. The juice was pumped to tank to cold-settle overnight before it was racked to barrel for primary and malolactic fermentations. The lees were stirred every two weeks to give the wine rich flavors and a creamy texture. Each barrel was hand-selected for this wine.
