Flavor Profiles
Pale yellow with a subtle green hue, this Chardonnay opens with lifted aromas of yellow peach and honeysuckle, complemented by hints of dried apricot and warm spice reminiscent of ginger snap. The palate is lush and full, unfolding with decadent peaches-and-cream and ripe stone fruit flavors. A rounded, creamy texture with balanced acidity creates freshness and precision for a long, elegant finish.
The fruit for this wine is sourced from “Home 82,” the oldest block at the Sangiacomo family’s original homestead. Located on the Sonoma County side of the cool, windswept Carneros region, this historic vineyard reflects the distinctive growing conditions that shape Rombauer Chardonnay.
The grapes were gently whole-cluster pressed before the juice was pumped to tank to cold-settle overnight. It was then racked to barrel for primary and malolactic fermentations. The lees were stirred every 7 to 10 days to impart the wine’s rich flavors and a creamy texture. Each barrel was hand-selected for this wine.
