- Pick and hull as necessary:

- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit
- Turn the fruit into the pie shell. Dot with:
- 1 to 2 tablespoons unsalte4d butter, cut into small pieces

- Cover the pie with a well-pricked or vented top or with a lattice
- Bake for 10 minutes
- Reduce the heat to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden brown
- Cool completely on a rack
