The Joy is a rich, viscous dessert wine with distinct botrytis characteristics. Sweet, dense, and complex, this wine boasts layers of honey, pears, and apricots. Underlying notes of citrus and tropical fruit complement the long, lingering finish.
This wine is very special in that we are only able to make it when conditions allow. The wine gets it’s sweetness from a mold known as botrytis. Also known as “noble rot,”
this dehydrates the grape within the skin, concentrating the sugar and flavors. The result is a naturally sweeter and very complex dessert wine.
